Runway to Confidence
A comprehensive course held at William E. Tolman High School Auditorium, designed to build self-esteem and personal style through the world of fashion and runway modeling. Led by instructors, students will delve into the modeling industry, learning foundational and advanced runway techniques, posing for various mediums, emoting on the runway, and collaborating in groups. The program also includes a skincare seminar, social media training, commercial acting, and fashion photography, fostering a well-rounded modeling education. Throughout the course, students will enhance their socio-emotional skills such as self-awareness, confidence, teamwork, and adaptability, culminating in a supportive and empowering runway show where they showcase their growth and creativity.

A design course aimed at high school students interested in sewing and garment construction. This program teaches the fundamentals of sewing through the creation of clothing from patterns and the upcycling of thrift shop finds. Students will explore the benefits of sustainable fashion, learn to select and work with various materials, and develop their design skills. The curriculum includes field trips to thrift shops, hands-on sewing projects, and lessons on finishing techniques and decoration. The program culminates in a fashion show where students present their creations, reflecting on their learning journey and promoting their work.

Style Makers
An introductory sewing class designed for high school students. This course focuses on teaching the basics of sewing and design using recycled materials to create unique tote bags. Students will learn about sustainable fashion, the importance of upcycling, and basic marketing concepts. The curriculum covers essential sewing techniques, brand identity creation, and promotional strategies. By the end of the program, students will have designed, assembled, and marketed their tote bags, gaining valuable skills in both craftsmanship and business.
