Studio Policies

About Open Studio Shea Fashion Open Studio provides adults with access to our studio, sewing machines, worktables, and select tools to independently work on personal sewing and creative projects. Open Studio is intended for individuals who are comfortable working independently. Open Studio is not an instructional class, and staff are not available to provide sewing lessons, project guidance, pattern assistance, or technical instruction. Eligibility Open Studio is available to participants 18 years of age or older. Participants must have basic knowledge of the equipment and tools they plan to use. Shea Fashion staff reserve the right to restrict access to any equipment if a participant cannot demonstrate safe and appropriate use. Individuals seeking instruction are encouraged to register for one of Shea Fashion's Adult Sewing Classes or workshops. Reservations and Session Length Open Studio sessions are scheduled in two-hour blocks. Advance reservations are strongly encouraged. Space is limited and availability is based on studio capacity and equipment availability. Participants may arrive at any point during their reserved session, but the session will still end at the originally scheduled time. Additional time is not guaranteed. Pricing Single Open Studio Session: $25 per two-hour session Multi-session passes may also be available through Shea Fashion's booking system. Passes are assigned to the purchaser and may not be transferred, shared, or redeemed for cash. Cancellations and Rescheduling Participants should cancel or reschedule their reservation at least 24 hours before the scheduled session. Cancellations made with at least 24 hours' notice may be rescheduled or credited toward a future Open Studio session. Late cancellations and no-shows may result in the loss of the session fee or one session from a multi-visit pass. Shea Fashion may cancel or modify Open Studio hours because of programming, holidays, special events, staffing, weather, or other operational needs. If Shea Fashion cancels a session, participants will receive a credit or opportunity to reschedule. Independent Projects Participants are responsible for bringing all materials, patterns, notions, thread, specialty supplies, and other items required for their projects unless otherwise stated. Shea Fashion does not guarantee that specific machines, tools, supplies, or equipment will be available
